One month after the first beta landed, Joomla 2.5 is here. The big news in Joomla 2.5 is support for Microsoft SQL in addition to MySQL, the first time a different database system has been supported. More are expected to be supported in the future.
Other highlights in this release are update notifications for the main software as well as
